The Legend Of Zelda : Breath Of The Wild – Guide des Grandes Fées

Faithful to the post, the Great Fairies are once again present in a Zelda opus! These have several uses and will be quite important in your adventures.

The Legend Of Zelda : Breath Of The Wild – Guide des Grandes Fées

What are they for ?

In this opus, there is five Great Fairies. Let's start with the four main Great Fairies. These are used to improve your equipment (only outfits, not weapons or shields).

Upgrading the equipment made by Great Fairies does two main things:

  • Increase the protection of the equipment.
  • Activate set bonuses.

Equipment can be upgraded four times to the maximum. Equipment upgrades will require a variety of components: ores, monster pieces, guardian components, etc. The set bonuses will activate as soon as the three pieces of the same set are improved to at least 2 stars each.

It should be noted that it is not necessary to change the fairy or to go to see one in particular to, for example, pass a piece of equipment from level 2 to level 3. But however, to be able to do this, it will be necessary give power back to the fairies to unlock the bearings improvement following.

Each fairy, during the very first discovery, will ask you for an offering in the form of rubies to regain its powers, each fairy increasing the price of the next fairy, no matter the order in which you wake them up.

  • First Great Fairy: 100 rupees - 1 star upgrade.
  • Second Great Fairy: 500 rupees - 2-star upgrade.
  • Third Great Fairy: 1 rupees - 000-star upgrade.
  • Fourth Great Fairy: 10 rupees - 000-star upgrade.

and Fifth Great Fairy in all of that ? The latter is a fairy "apart". Indeed, it has no connection with your equipment, but thanks to it, you can resurrect your mounts fallen in battle! Like her sisters, you will have to offer her a small ruby offering the first time you see her to restore her powers.

  • Great Horse Fairy: 1 rupees - Resurrect horses.

The first resurrection is free, while the following ones will require a Carrot.

Where to find them?

Some Great Fairies are easily found, while others are fairly well stashed. It should be noted that by talking to NPCs, some will give you information on the possible positions of the Great Fairies. Do not hesitate to speak with everyone if you prefer to find them on your own then!

Also know that you can discover them and “wake up” in any order you want.

The Four Great Fairies

The Great Fairy Cotura

This is surely the very first Great Fairy that you will unlock. It is the easiest to discover due to the fact that it is located very close to a location of the main quest and, in addition, an NPC located right next to the said main quest will escort you to the fountain.

To discover the fountain of this Great Fairy, first go to village Cocorico and go to the Sanctuary of the village, the Taro'Nihi shrine. Once in front of this sanctuary, take the small road that goes up and leads to a forest. Once in this small forest, continue the path by taking the one on the left and you will fall right on the fountain. Here !

The Great Fairy Tera

It is undoubtedly the Great Fairy the most difficult to access. It is located at southwest of the Gérudo dessert. I strongly advise you to rent a Sand walrus to get there. In addition, as long as you have not discovered the sanctuary next to said fountain, the entire area is subject to a sandstorm which drastically reduces visibility and renders the map and radar unusable. The fountain (and the sanctuary) is under a large skeleton.

To find your way around easily, place a marker on the giant skeleton and follow it without making the slightest detour or bypassing, like that, as soon as the radar and the map become unusable, you are sure to be well in the axis and to inevitably fall on it.

The sandstorm will rise as soon as you activate the shrine and collect the Emblem of Triumph. The fountain is right in front of the sanctuary, impossible to miss!

This fifth fairy is very easy to find. In fact, you just have to follow the road to fall right on it in a cul-de-sac. Meet at Relais des Alpages (Kao'Maka Shrine) located at south of Lake Hylia. From this belay, take the road west to the first crossroads. Then take the road going south and follow it to the end and you will fall directly on the fountain. Here !
