Dead by Daylight – Sadako Rising

Who does not know these days Dead by Daylight, the game where you can embody one of the great villains of horror in any medium or one of the legendary survivors who faced them. For those who have known the joy of embodying the mighty Cenobite, the deadly Demogorgon, or the Executioner of Silent Hill, see Resident Evil's Nemesis, and many more, as well as their opposites in matches or only tenacity will be well rewarded on one side as on the other.

Today, we are going to show you the new chapter that was just released a few days ago which features characters from the movie "Ring" by Hideo Nakata. We will therefore have the right as a killer to Sadako the Onryō, Yoichi the survivor, and an exclusive object if you buy the chapter directly: the cursed video cassette charm.

Sadako Yamamura l'Onryō

The antagonist from the movie "Ring" returns to this world to hunt down new victims with abilities interesting enough to be effective at all times. Her strong point being mobility with her ability to move between screens when unmanifested and her stealth that will cause her to flash intermittently before manifesting near a Survivor or when exiting a TV.

But even more than that, the survivors earn conviction charges that increase when Sadoko comes out of the TV near them, or when someone has the bad idea to remove a tape to turn off the TVs that litter the area. Once charge them with full condemnation? a survivor on land can simply be executed without more ceremony like the executioner of Silent Hill and his torment.

My opinion: Quite particular to play as it will not require too much effort to cause carnage, perpetuating elements of other characters a little revisited for its account (the movement between points of the Demogorgon, the invisibility of the spectrum), it will quickly become an essential character as the fact of removing the cassettes is punitive, much more than the obstacle that it represents for the Onryō. For those who want to try a character of medium difficulty, I would recommend this character without hesitation before arriving at a difficult but much funnier and more powerful character that is Pinhead, the Cenobite of Hellraiser.

Its own abilities are:

  1. Call of the sea: if you inflict damage on a generator, it regresses very quickly (175%) and marks it. If a Survivor passes a skill test, you will be notified with a sound notification.
  2. Waves of Rage: Four hooks are changed to a whipping hook and shown in white. When a survivor is unhooked from one of these hooks, all survivors will be revealed for 4 seconds.
  3. Merciless Storm: When a generator reaches 90%, survivors on that generator are subject to continuous testing. If a test is failed, it will be blocked for 16 seconds. (once per generator and per game).

If the first skill is a good form of tracking, the other two are simply monstrous. The third will waste a lot of time and inflict a lot of stress on players who are a little scatterbrained and uncomfortable with testing. The second is a double punishment: he stays hooked, he suffers and will die... is he unhooked? you see your prey. Very useful for players who have only a few killers.

Yoichi Asakawa survivant

In the movie "Ring", he is the child of a couple who are under the influence of the curse. We play him as an adult, having spent his life studying and researching different subjects, including the paranormal and everything related to it. It was quite natural that he ended up being chosen by the entity to be Sadako's natural prey.

His personal talent set is quite nice and allows optimal survival on many points. whether it is at the level of the blessing of the totems which increase the speed of movement by 2% or the fact of hiding one's tracks for a few seconds after having stunned the killer or even the ability to be seen by other wounded survivors and to treating them faster... that's a real plus.

My opinion: Coupling some of Yoichi's abilities with those of other characters, such as Leon's blinding grenade (Resident Evil) allows you to have a rather interesting situational combo if you want to play the rescuer. Or taking the Thrill talent allows you to dodge the killer as well as possible, coupled with the talent that allows you to be seen can be quite interesting. Everything will depend on what you want to do with it, but in itself the character offers very good opportunities.

Summary

This new chapter offers a new killer quite interesting to play for those who want to play one more cult character. The icing on the cake, a small TV filter is a bonus when playing Sadako, to reinforce immersion. As for the survivor, Yoichi, he will offer useful skills to any survivor, as long as you haven't found a combo that suits you before. Personally, I really enjoyed playing this killer, and I think I'm going to spend a little more time on it.

Small bonus, currently, two codes allow you, at the time of writing these lines, to have blood points in the shop. Hurry, they can expire at any time!
