Planet Zoo: Africa Pack – Real Zoo and Virtual Zoo

At the end of June, the last pack of Frontier's zoo simulation game was released (and by the way, I gave you a preview of it here). What was my surprise a few days later to receive an intriguing box, certainly made of cardboard, but whose exterior decoration gave the impression that it could be a wooden box. A stamp indicated that it would have been delivered by the "Frontier Postal Service" (sorry the Post Office!) and that it would be heavy. Strange... Inside, I discovered a cute meerkat stuffed toy and a pocket containing various documents from Chester Zoo. More and more strange. Reading the explanatory letter with a little more attention, I am surprised to discover that an adoption has been taken in my name and that, since July 20, and this for one year, my name will be displayed on a plaque next to meerkats habitat!

Without waiting, I go to the website of Chester Zoo, in the United Kingdom, to learn more about its adoption service. By offering this commitment to one of the zoo's species, the zoo collects money which is not intended to help the animals present on site, but to contribute to various conservation projects and programs that it undertakes. to help endangered species across the globe. If English does not scare you, you can find all the details on his site here.

Congratulations to Planet Zoo, which has been able to commit itself from the start to bringing the maximum authenticity to its simulation game and which now goes beyond the border of screens by participating in real life in the preservation of animals! Moreover, on this subject, I received from him some advice to take good care of his animals, very virtual this time!

Meerkats love to dig (provide sand and earth). Despite having colonies of up to 30 animals, they require modest space, with tunnel and bubble machine type optimizations. As for the Cape penguins, even if they do not need a lot of space, their population will grow quickly and it is better to provide enough to accommodate all these babies. To occupy them, the curio ball is ideal. Then, to ensure that the fennecs are entertained and happy, the use of optimization objects such as the tennis ball and the establishment of a large sandy playground is welcome. Finally, the last of the habitat animals, the southern white rhinoceros, is the only one to require a large area, which it will roam in small herds. Mud baths, sprinklers, herb planters and other items are necessary to maintain the interest of this demanding animal. On the side of the vivarium, the temperature and humidity must be ideal for the well-being of the sacred beetles, so that they can devote all their energy to rolling their balls of excrement in their place of exposure!
