Planet Zoo – Conservation Pack

A new pack was released Tuesday, June 21 on Frontier's zoo simulation game, Planet Zoo. On the program, three habitat animals, a vivarium animal, a timed zoo and around 150 building bricks, all on the theme of nature protection.

Timed zoo

Located in Mongolia, the Turtle Rock Refuge is a calm and peaceful place.

At the beginning of the game, some habitats are already materialized, but very few animals are installed: an axolotl, blue peacocks and Chinese pangolins. And those that are installed lack space (pangolins), optimizations (peacocks) or company (axolotls). Not to mention that the water is not filtered...

But you will have to make compromises because, in order to get the stars, there are quite a few challenges to overcome, and this in a rather limited time (depending on the difficulty and the expected star):

  • Research 3 habitat species to level 2
  • Research Przewalski's Horse up to level 3
  • Have at least 8 different habitat species in the zoo, with an overall wellbeing parameter of up to 80%
  • Release 3 different habitat species into the wild
  • Have at least 2 animal presentations in 1 year
  • Have at least 4 observation points in the zoo
  • Achieving a score of 2/5 for preservation
  • Expect 20% plant diversity in at least 4 habitats
  • Power the entire zoo with renewable energy

building elements

Unsurprisingly, the theme of preservation is represented by a majority of wooden objects, enough to create magnificent environments for zoos that are more natural than ever. In addition, there is a "farm" inspiration, with many agricultural objects and vegetables, enough to give a more authentic side to zoos.

Cheval de Przewalski

Planet Zoo – Conservation Pack

These wild equines no longer existed in the wild until their reintroduction in 2011. There are just under 2 of them frolicking in the steppes of Mongolia, but their future is still uncertain. Unsurprisingly, they need a large space to be comfortable. For a small group of only 000 adults, it already takes more than 4 km². A few shelters, and you won't have to provide much else for their happiness! I even had a magnificent foal, isn't he adorable?

Amur leopard

Planet Zoo – Conservation Pack

These carnivores live in the temperate forests located between the Russian Far East and China. Hunted for its fur, furthermore suffering from the shrinking of its living space, it almost disappeared in the 70s, there would only have been 30 individuals left at the time! Despite various actions, such as the creation of a national park to preserve its habitat, the species is still far from being saved, continuing to be the target of poaching, with a total population estimated at only 110 individuals. This feline must be well surrounded behind high fences, with anti-climbing devices, to prevent it from trying to bite a visitor. It will also be necessary to provide him with enough space to climb, because he loves it!

Siamese

Planet Zoo – Conservation Pack

This gibbon living in the rain forests of Malaysia and the island of Sumatra is very recognizable with its large arms (the span of which can be up to twice the size of its body). Affected by the deforestation of its environment transformed into agricultural land, this great primate is also the target of various traffics, and its population is only decreasing.

Even more of a climber than the leopard, the siamang benefits from new climbing structures added with this pack which will make it happy, as well as that of all the other monkeys in the game. Watch out for the trees, which should not be too close to the edges, so that the evil siamang does not jump to the other side!

Animal from the vivarium : Axolotl

This freshwater amphibian likes to live in the lakes of Mexico, and he especially enjoyed the unfortunately dry Lake Chalco. It therefore only has Lake Xochimilco left, but it too has been impacted by humans, because it is reduced to a channel. Only a maximum of 1 individuals would remain in the wild, and certainly much less.

Little to say on this side, a vivarium with the right stones will ensure its happiness!

Conclusion

Less supplied with habitat animals than in previous packs, the pack is a bit disappointing on this point. But I nevertheless fell in love with the construction elements, modern and natural, which adapt to all environments. In addition, being a fan of horses, I am necessarily more than happy to welcome the little Przewalski horse with such a characteristic dress!
