Two Point Hospital – DLC « Speedy Recovery »

While I thought Two Point Studios was totally focused on the development of its new title (which this time will lead to managing a university with Two Point Campus scheduled for May 17), its developers are surprising us with a new DLC for their title of crazy hospital simulation. Discover Speedy Recovery:

Like all the other DLCs, the story begins with a letter, this time sent by Gretchen Lengagement, a genius mechanic who wants to revolutionize emergency management. His idea ? Create a fleet of ambulances to bring the sick directly to the hospital. Sound familiar? Yeah, me too, but we're going to avoid tainting Gretchen's beautiful enthusiasm by reminding her that this is how things are in the real world and pretending she's awesome!

Three new hospitals are added: Ailing, Betts Shore and Pointed Pass.

Ailing

Rather simple, this hospital serves as a tutorial to understand how the new ambulance system works. From the start, a car park allows the installation of the light and inexpensive Tricyclette.

Others may be purchased later, in order to bring more patients to the hospital gates. Whether with one or twelve ambulances, everything goes through the ultra-modern Two Two Point Nav interface, a GPS tablet where regional emergencies and competitors are indicated, as well as real-time geolocation of all vehicles, including including those of competitors. Emergencies are now becoming a constant struggle to be the first on the scene, to win as many patients as possible!

I could almost add: and it doesn't matter if the hospital does not have the facilities to receive and cure them. In fact, to be completely precise, it depends on the objectives of each hospital, since statistics are then carried out, following four criteria: the number of recovered patients, the recovery rate, the death rate and an average giving the reputation. emergencies. There, it was not going too badly when I made this screenshot, I checked all the boxes.

To know that ambulances require to be driven by doctors or nurses who have the Driving skill, at least at rank 1. From experience, I mainly trained my nurses because doctors tend to ask far too much to be profitable. The advantage is that patients leave ambulances with a first diagnosis, avoiding an additional visit to general medicine. Like any device, regular maintenance must be carried out in order to avoid breakdowns. However, there is not too much to worry about because Gretchen takes care of it! However, there is nothing to prevent other maintenance workers from being trained in this skill, but I personally did not feel the need.

Ailing Hospital sees the development of a new disease, "Storm Warning". The sick are particularly annoying because they walk around in yellow oilskins, with a cloud above their heads. Suddenly, they leave behind puddles of water, extra work for the poor cleaners who constantly have to take out the mops to mop up! The cloud computing room has the particularity of being able to accommodate several machines, to optimize the treatment time, even if I have never had such an influx of patients that it turned out to be necessary.

To get the first star, you need to recover 100 emergency patients, heal 8 patients from "Storm warning", and place 3 Tricycle type ambulances. The second star is obtained by researching other types of ambulance: the Pantomobile and the Gigambulance. It is also necessary to be in the first place of the recovered emergency patients and to cure 100 others. Finally, the third star requires recovering 200 emergency patients and being in first place in the healing rate, as well as maintaining an overall healing rate on the hospital at 70% and a reputation of 90%.

Betts Shore

Betts Shore is unlocked as soon as the second star of Ailing is obtained. Things are getting a bit tricky this time because, in addition to land ambulances, our friend Gretchen wants to add flying ambulances to the fleet!

Before even being able to claim a first star, you have to start looking for the Relicoptère, which is reminiscent of Leonardo da Vinci's invention. You will notice in passing that the researchers are not bored on this DLC because, in addition to the new diseases, they must research three ranks for each of the three styles of ground ambulances (and soon three for the flying ambulances).

The clever ones will also have noticed Cirumaine on the capture above, it is the room to cure the new disease, Hive Mind, which is visually noticed by patients with a hive on their head. Watch out for stings!

Visually, the flying ambulances are quite unique in style! I love the yellow wedge...

The first star is obtained by curing 8 patients suffering from "Hive Spirit", placing 3 Relicopter-type ambulances and training 3 personnel in the piloting skill. Just as I had done previously with the driving skill, I only trained my nurses, coupling that with a good level in diagnosis, in order to ensure good patient care. The second star requires you to complete the research project "Improvement: Cirumaine", to improve 10 machines, while being at least second in emergency reputation for three months and maintaining an overall reputation of the hospital at 95%. The ultimate star is more complex to obtain due to the value of the hospital having to wait for the 3 million, that's a lot, especially since this value sometimes tends to drop depending on the profits and the use of the halls. Otherwise, you must also complete the research project "Advanced Improvement: Cirumaine", and be in first place for at least three consecutive months for the reputation of urgency and number of recovered patients.

sharp pass

Passe pointed is the most complex hospital of the three because here the patients do not come by themselves. The full benefit depends on the number of patients brought back to the emergency room. It is therefore necessary to succeed in maintaining a precarious balance between the number of ambulances, the number of services, the number of employees and the number of patients to ensure sufficient profits, without causing everything to collapse. Regardless of the illnesses, regardless of the destinations, we have to generate numbers and ensure uninterrupted use of the fleet. This means constantly opening the Two Two Point Nav to check if the ambulances have returned and sending them on a loop, without giving the pilots and drivers a single minute of rest.

A new disease must be treated, "Small Souskis", which can be cured in the Powder Room, thus also requiring research. Not to mention any remaining vehicle research, though I think that was my mistake. I should never have embarked on this third hospital without having fully unlocked all three ranks of all ambulances to optimize their use and maximize profits.

To reach the first star, it is necessary to complete the Powdery research project, to build 6 ambulances, to cure 8 patients of Small souskies. But also to cure 100 emergency patients, while remaining at least second in terms of recovered emergency patients. The second star requires you to upgrade 20 machines, heal 100 emergency patients, while remaining at least second in emergency reputation. For the third star... I'm still working on it!

In any case, this makes our friend Gretchen happy:

Conclusion

Starting from a great idea, the Speedy Recovery DLC finally brings something new to hospital sim, not just recycling gameplay mechanics with a different look. On the other hand, in reality, the management of the ambulance fleet may lack a bit of strategy because there are ultimately only a few parameters to take into account: distance, gravity and time remaining. . Suddenly, everything becomes a little too systematic. Especially on the last hospital where you have to constantly send ambulances, this leads to clicking, clicking, without thinking because a moment of downtime will lead to a drop in income. Also note that the ambulance system does not impact the old hospitals whose emergencies will continue to operate as before.

The DLC also caused the appearance of new bugs. My employees often got stuck, unable to find their way to their destination. I even had three or four of them become unselectable in the world, forcing me to fire them because they refused to get back to work even after I reloaded my save or tried to manually unlock them from the interface . In addition, employees stuck in ambulances see their happiness drop dangerously, because they do not have the opportunity to go to the bathroom or have a snack. Finally, the system has a lot of trouble managing training requests for them, you have to manually get them out of their vehicles to let them go in the training room, or else it blocks everyone, the teacher and the other students.

Despite everything, I had a great time with Two Point Hospital which I had missed! It had been almost a year since anything had come out and it had been long, far too long! Objectively, it's also one of the best DLCs, which I recommend to you in priority despite its few flaws.
