Soon, with the Brotherhood DLC, it will be possible to prepare your own poisons. MMORPG.com conducted a interview with Chris Balser and Phil Draven from Zenimax to discuss it.

It was quite logical to add this feature with this DLC, the Dark Brotherhood having always had a special relationship with poison (it was possible to kill with poisoned apples in Oblivion or there is a quest around poisoning the someone's meal in Skyrim).

Alchemy already exists in-game, so poison creation will be an extension of that. This is quite similar in principle, most components that were not suitable for alchemy (like mushrooms) are suitable for creating poisons. The main difference comes from the solvents used, allowing to avoid creating a poison by mistake. And although poisons sometimes have positive benefits, the negative effects will always be greater and will last longer.

The level in this skill will depend on the level reached in Alchemy. A good alchemist will therefore in theory be a good poisoner. Any traits that a player has identified regarding components will remain identified, even for poisons. In addition, they added other components to increase his skill beyond and experience new effects. Oils can be found throughout the game, typically on larger monsters (trolls, wamasu, mammoths) while newer components are not level-specific (like herbs or mushrooms).

There are several levels of poisons, like for potions: 3, 10, 20, 30, 40 and so on. Poisons are mostly negative effects (debuff), the higher the level, the longer this effect will last. Like potions, putting the same effect in a poison three times will make it more effective than twice. On the other hand, combining several effects in the same poison will dilute them, making all these effects less effective (and therefore lasting less). It is also possible to apply poisons to his weapons (which deactivates the effect of any enchantment). Note that other uses are potentially possible in the future (the question was about the possibility of using the poison in the kitchen, which is currently not possible).

This DLC game pack is coming soon to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited: May 31 on PC and June 14 on consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4).
