For those in a hurry, here are the key points of the story as he tells it:

    • Born: 2E 521
    • Breton, son of a merchant and himself an accomplished merchant.
    • family: his father, the merchant lord Pierric of Cumbria taught him the handling of weapons and combat.
    • He fought many, many times, following convoys of caravans. It proved its worth during the resistance of the Siege of Wayfarer. He climbs the ranks as he goes and sees himself leading the elite troop of the Lances of Waystress which has taken the attackers by surprise. Emeric himself killed the enemy leader Durcorach.
    • He ascends the throne of Waystead in the year 2E 563 because his father dies of the Knahataine Plague.
    • He allows himself to refuse the hand of Princess Rayelle, daughter of King Ranser de Taillemont attracting the latter's wrath and at the same time refusing the princess' dowry. This would have made it possible to establish a very luxurious maritime trade between the two regions.
    • Émeric decides to marry Princess Maraya, daughter of King Fahara'jad. He married in the spring of 566.
    • In the month of Vifazur 2E 566, Ranser tries to have him assassinated but Emeric, who expected it, easily repels the enemies with his close guard and the powerful Scalpel of Orichalcum, an enchanted sword endowed with many virtues.
    • In 2E 578, Emperor Varen, with whom he had concluded a treaty, disappeared from the Imperial City and Cyrodiil again fell under the control of the Daedric Cabal, destroying his lands.

The High King Émeric, Breton merchant lord, skillful diplomat non-foreign to the arts of war, is the leader of the peoples of the Alliance of Daggerfall.
