FFXIV – Guide Chevalier Dragon (ARR)

Have you always dreamed of wearing dreamy armor and carrying your attacks with a large spear? Then the dragon knight is for you. To become a Dragon Knight, you will need to be level 30 pole master and level 15 marauder.

Statistics

The skill points are to be emphasized of course and the secondary characteristics are in my humble opinion:

  • Precision : precision is preferred to avoid missing your combos, it would be a shame to start all over again, right? 472 from T1 to T5 as well as T6. 481 for the T7. 492 for T8, T9. 495 for the T10. 515 for the T11. 525 for the T12 and 538 for the T13
  • Determination : determination then because it will be used to increase your automatic attacks, as well as the rest.
  • Critical : the critic to finish in order to have a little more in dps which will not hurt anyone.

I didn't mention the liveliness. It reduces the cdg of your skills. However, if the dps is average, it is not 0.2 or 0.3 second better on this one that will improve it. In addition, for it to be effective, it would take a large amount and leave the determination aside, which would result in a consequent loss of DPS.

Cycle

As for the cycle, which has been improved somewhat since 2.45, everyone has their own way of seeing it. However, here's how I do it:

Pique jump, spine breaker, power blast, jump, powerful breakthrough (to the side if possible to get the power bonus), drive, disembowelment, chaotic breakthrough (behind if possible to get the power bonus), double breakthrough, Fracture ( dowry of the warrior), inner relaxation, blood for blood, true breakthrough, vorpal breakthrough, breath of life, total breakthrough.

I resume with a Powerful Breakthrough and then the True Breakthrough cycle, and I put down the disembowelment, chaotic breakthrough and double breakthrough and wound dowries while being careful to keep those dowries up to date as well as the powerful breakthrough. I also try to use as soon as possible the jumps obtained thanks to the job: they are out of gcd and will allow a little more DPS while taking care of me when I do not know what to do between 2 attacks. As a general rule, the jump is usable every 1 cycles or so, paired with the Power Blast which increases its damage by 50%.

As for zone attacks, the dragon knight has few, 2 to be precise: ring of thorns at level 46 and the dragon's stung jump at level 50 by the job. All this to say that multi-target fights, it is better to avoid them because even with the motivation, we will quickly run out of PT.

The Ring of Brambles consumes 120 PT and can be used with or without the Power Breakthrough which will provide a power boost. Dragon Dive Leap does not consume PT, however it has a 120 second cooldown.

Cross-skills

As far as I'm concerned, the cross skills that I use are: the fracture, the bloodbath and the coup de grace for the warrior, inner relaxation and second wind for the pugilist. Admittedly, they are provided without their improvements, but they are still useful despite everything.

This guide is now complete, it is not to be taken literally but it may give you a better idea of how to play it.
