These demon-like beings guard the famous Naryu Labyrinth located on the edge of the Undine Plains. In addition to their role as a protector to deter intruders, they would wait for the heir to the ancient Naryu empire to test him. But with the labyrinth undergoing the ravages of time, the defense systems became vulnerable and the two guardian entities went mad with rage, attacking anyone who crossed their path.

Ultimate master of thunder and lightning, Raijin (from the rai word "thunder" and jin for "god") is never far from his twin brother Fujin, the wind god. Two inseparable elements that make reckless adventurers endure the worst storms. Naturally protective of his brother and companion, Raijin will not hesitate to come to his aid and transmit his own energy to help him.

In some writings, these two deities are represented respectively with a drum for the sound of thunder and a bag that contains the gusts of the wind, swapping their dark skin for green and red. An animal named Raijuu (literally meaning thunder animal) would even accompany Raijin. Sometimes in the form of a cat, a wolf or a weasel, its cries are similar to the rolling that can be heard during a thunderstorm. Others also tell of the existence of a tenacious rivalry between the two deities who ended up killing each other, consumed by jealousy.
