    SWTOR - La Dynasty d'Onderon

At the end of the Great Hyperspace War, the Sith Empire split in two. On the one hand, the future Emperor surrounded himself with slaves and survivors of the lowest castes. On the other hand, Naga Sadow, the Dark Lord, a legitimate leader but repulsed by his rivals and defeated militarily by the Republic. He fled aboard his only command ship, to Yavin IV. There he waited in stasis for an apprentice to come and help him rebuild his strength. A fallen Jedi apprentice came to him, but not with the intention of becoming his servant. As soon as he had learned all he wanted, Freedon Nadd murdered his master, assumed his title of leader of the Sith, and set out to conquer a planet in the Inner Rim, in an area where the Republic did not care too much. This was around 760 years ago and his tomb is still a focal point of the Dark side. Whatever new power is installed on Onderon.

The planet Onderon and the first of its four moons, Dxun, are so close that they share the same atmosphere. It is quite possible to switch from one to the other without worrying about breathing problems. The large winged predators that populated the planet before its colonization regularly make the journey in one direction or the other. Hunt these animals became very difficult, and the new arrivals ended up taking refuge behind great walls: Iziz, gigantic city and capital of the planet. For justice, it became quite simple to be content with throwing the criminals out of their civilized zone, in full nature. When Freedon Nadd took power, his opponents were condemned en masse and exiled. Logically, they should have died. Still, they managed to tame the predators and followed them to Dxun. They took the name of Beast Riders and began to develop another company. But they did not want to give up the fight against their victors, and attacked the walls of Iziz. The Beast Wars lasted nearly four centuries, with each side unable to reach the enemy base.

Freedon Nadd wanted to be the new leader of the Sith, he had to surround himself with a court of followers of the Dark side. His children were brought up in the same way as him, and the whole royal line following. Many warriors served as bodyguards or officers, either voluntarily or under the coercion of witchcraft from the Dark Side. Overwhelming power against all rebellion. An all-powerful theocracy. However, a member of this family will speak out against this domination. Princess Galia fell in love with Oron Kira, son of the leader of the Beast Riders. A union that would have the merit of ending the Beast Wars. Around this time, the Republic discovered Onderon and Queen Amanoa had to reckon with Jedi envoys like Master Arca Jeth and knight Ulic Qel-Droma. When they found out the truth, they fought the Sith and helped the Beast Riders bring Galia to power. Apparently, King Ommin did nothing against his daughter. But for two years, the new masters of the planet had to face a fierce resistance which claimed to be naddist power. Eventually, after Freedon Nadd's grave was moved from the basements of the palace to the moon Dxun, the violence escalated to the point that the young ruler sought advice from her father. So the masks fell: Ommin revealed himself to be the leader of the Naddites and his main advisor was the ghost of Freedon Nadd. Or rather the former Dark Lord of the Sith was the puppeteer and his descendant his pawn. It took Jedi reinforcements for Ulic Qel-Droma to directly attack enemy leaders and defeat old Ommin. Freedon Nadd's tomb was moved to Dxun, and powerful Jedi spells imprisoned his ghost there. Naddite resistance collapsed, and the young royal couple was able to begin a long reign of peace which will be well celebrated by the people. Whether it's Iziz's or the Beast Riders. But on the moon, the tomb of the lineage founder remained a focal point on the Dark side. That it still is today.

The ambitious young Jedi Exar Kun made the mistake of freeing Freedon Nadd, and the ghost caused further damage to the galaxy: the founders of Krath, Kun himself ... His actions shaped the Brotherhood of the Sith, his heirs in the tradition of Naga Sadow. But he himself did not take advantage of it, his successor banished him definitively so that he would stop manipulating him. Onderon was a great victory against this Brotherhood, pushing back their Mandalorian allies and eliminating their leader in the Dxun Jungle. This resulted in revenge during the Mandalorian War, and Revan's Jedi had to reclaim the system. But becoming a Sith in his turn, Darth Revan pointedly ignored the area. Spared from the Jedi Civil War, the planet proved particularly useful in the return of peace. Its wildlife could be transported to other worlds like Telos and help rebuild war-battered ecosystems. General Vaklu tried to join forces with the Sith Triumvirate to overthrow his cousin Talia, but his coup failed. He was executed for treason and his allies driven from the tomb of Freedon Nadd. Even today, the sector is still shared by a planet allied to the Republic but a moon that calls the Dark side ...
