Here is a short summary and opinion of a visitor who read the book "Revan" which tells the story of the well-known character of the saga The Old Republic.
This is my first review on the series of novels The Old Republic, I start with volume 3, for two reasons, the first being that this one is in my opinion the most successful, but also it is chronologically located about fifty years before the two others.
There is something out there: an evil mountain coming to crush the Republic - unless a lone Jedi, on the run and reviled, can stop it. Revan: hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to eliminate the Madalorians - and returned as a disciple of the Dark Side, destined to destroy the Republic. The Jedi Council restored Revan to his former life, but the price of redemption was high. Her memories have been erased. Only nightmares remain, and a deep and permanent fear. What exactly happened in the Outer Rim? Revan barely remembers it, but can't completely forget it either. In a way, he comes up against a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. Having no idea what it is, or how to stop him, Revan could very well fail, as he has never faced such an evil and powerful enemy. But only death can prevent him from trying.
A very successful novel, well constructed and very informative. It is located about fifty years before the time of the game. The strong point of the novel is that we learn a lot about The Emperor. From his childhood to his rise to power, on his immortality ... (I won't say more ^^) We also learn a lot about Lord Scourge, (for those who play Jedi, we understand much better why he helps the Republic). The Novel also makes us think about Satele Shan's family tree. I personally had a great time with this novel, although the first two books had frankly disappointed me. If you are a fan of The Old Republic universe, this is a novel not to be missed.
