SWTOR - Immortality Ravager (3.0)

SWTOR - Immortality Ravager (3.0)

Guide for Story and Hard Mode players

I am Korrack, Tank Ravager on Mantle of the Force and through this guide I share my experience of the Immortality discipline in 3.0. This guide is completely subjective.

Small parenthesis for Sorcerers: the grap must not be used on a tank in combat. If you read your power, it reduces the target's animosity. This puts the group in a critical position.

Points d'usage

The use points are common to the three Ravager disciplines. We will therefore put aside the PvP Usages and those for the DPS disciplines, and take the Uses to increase animosity, absorption etc. My Usages will be global, don't expect boss-by-boss Uses.

  • empowered
  • mastery
  • Heroic
  • Profit : reduces the delay of the Force Charge, useful during a pushback to immediately "charge" and restart a cycle.
  • Force transition : Increases the damage of Volley of Shots by 25%. This increases the animosity of this useful multi-target power.
  • Profit : Reduces the cooldown of Release by 30 seconds, which when triggered restores 10% of your health.

ou

  • Inflexibility : Generates 4 Rage points if stunned, sleepy, or knocked down.
  • Sound wall Our Mass Taunt increases animosity and protects party members within 15 yards from a small amount of damage for 10 seconds.
  • Galvanizing cry : Increases the movement speed of all allies by 50% within 8 yards. Useful to help party members get out of a damage area quickly (example: Blaster in Operation Ravager).
  • Intimidating presence : Cooldown of Disruption canceled if using Force Charge. And most importantly: Saber Reflection generates a large amount of animosity on all enemies engaged within 30 yards.
  • Intercessor : Reduces the cooldown of Intervention by 5 seconds and reduces animosity by an additional 10% per target. To take, allows during a recovery of aggro of a DPS to reduce its animosity. However, this power has a risk of wiping if you do so during an area (example: Quartermaster Buloc).

ou

  • Rage Consumption : Enraged Defense interrupts all dispellable effects while active.
  • By power Pain Tolerance increases your movement speed by 50% and makes you immune to movement affecting effects.

Buff and debuff

  • Buff
  • Debuff

The Ravager has defensive buffs. They increase its absorption, defense or even its damage reduction.

Only three powers of the Ravager initiate a debuff:

SWTOR - Immortality Ravager (3.0)Crushing blow - "Penalty": The damage inflicted by Force and Tech attacks is reduced.

Defensive powers and different types of damage

In our galaxy, there are 2 types of damage: Internal / Elemental and Energetic / Kinetic.

  • Energetics / Kinetics : this type of damage acts on defense or shield.
  • Internal / Elementary : damage reduction only.

To protect ourselves well, we have our equipment but also our defensive powers (generally called CD - Cooldown). To do this, you need to know their effects:

  • Saber reflection : I use it both as a defense power and as an attack power. It reflects Force and Techno damage back at the attacker and generates a large amount of animosity.
  • Saber return : it's a Panic-button. Reduces Force and Tech damage by 25% and increases Defense by 50%.
  • Invincibility : it's a Panic-button. It reduces all damage taken by 40% for 12 seconds.
  • Tolerance to pain : it increases our life by 30% for 20 seconds. Additionally, it reduces internal and elemental damage by 5%. To be used when you feel that the healer is busy raising the DPS, after an affliction or a combat phase that has gone bad for example.
  • Enraged Defense : to be used to help the healer or as a panic-button. It grants 10 charges and each charge regenerates 2021 health. Usable if health is below 70%.
  • Looseness : purges disabling effects that affect movement. Furthermore, Profit restores 10% of your life. It becomes a Panic-buttons.

Here is the classic table summarizing the damage types and cooldowns to use:

Provocation

Each tank has 2 taunts: a single target and a multi-target:

  • The Taunt Mono-target "Provocation"increases your threat by 110% and by 130% if over 3 meters.
  • The "Threatening Scream" Multi-target taunt increases the threat. And, if you took Wall of sound, it absorbs a small amount of damage.

Statistics and equipment

Statistics

SWTOR - Immortality Ravager (3.0)

Precision : Currently it is 101%: 90% + 10% of Soresu form + 1% in companion buff.

Order of priority: Shield> Absorption> Defense> Stamina

Why defense last? Because the Defense, without improvement, arrives at 20 - 21%. If we add the buff Blade barricades, the defense increases to 25 - 26% which is quite acceptable.

I did tests with different proportions of improvements until I found a balance of the three statistics. Below are the stats I'm targeting with the 198 "Revanite Military Leader" gear plus buffs, stims, and buffs. In the "Improvements" part, the number I used to get these statistics.

  • Without improvements and type X pack
  • With improvements and type X pack
  • Defense : 5% + 3% + defense index (1049): 13% = 21%
  • Bouclier : 5% + 19% + shield index (1200): 23% = 47%
  • Absorption : 20% + absorption index (945): 19,35% = 39.35%
  • Defense : 5% + 3% + defense index (1049): 13% = 21%
  • Bouclier : 5% + 19% + shield index (1512): 31% = 55%
  • Absorption : 20% + absorption index (1361): 30% = 50%

Note: Absorbance must be greater than Shield. This is only useful if the Shield is engaged. A difference of 5% is tolerated.

Equipment and set bonuses

The equipment entitled "Bulwark" is the equipment without set bonus, purchasable with the distinctions or recoverable in litigation zones or operations. This equipment does not have optimized parts but is quite useful for starting operations in story mode (normal).

Equipment with the bonus set "Military leader" can only be recovered in normal or difficult operation 60 as a token to be exchanged on the Fleet. Don't miss it! They have optimized coins and a 6 coin bonus:

  • Bonus 2 pieces : Crushing Blow / Protective Slash increases damage reduction by 2% for 4 seconds.
  • Bonus 4 pieces Wing Assault / Protective Strike reduces the cooldown of Taunt and Threatening Cry / Provocative Call by 2 seconds per activation.
  • Bonus 6 pieces : Increases the duration of Blade Pivot by 1.5 seconds and the duration of Invincibility / Protective Call by 3 seconds.

The set bonus is essential. The 2 coin bonus is very interesting. As for the 6-piece bonus, it's handy for absorbing large amounts of damage. For loot in operation, I refer you to the Geofraynils guide.

Relics

  • Fortuitous refuge : Impending attacks have a 30% chance to grant a Defense rating of 795 points for 6 seconds.
  • Shield Amplification : Absorption increased by 795 points for 6 seconds. Available every 20 seconds.

improvements

  • (x 6) Advanced Shield Upgrade 36 : Power +34 Shield Index +52
  • (x 8) Advanced absorption enhancement 36 : Potency +34 Absorption index +52
  • Advanced Entrenchment Upgrade 36 : Power +34 Defense Index +52

Stimulant and Doping

I recommend an analgesic bravery stimul and an offensive analgesic potency dopant at the engagement to increase aggro.

Conclusion

The Ravager with its Immortality discipline has, like the Assassin and the Tank Specialist, its own playstyle. The Ravager is mainly characterized for keeping aggro after pulling, especially in single target. However, for the multi-target, he is less good than his colleague Specialist.

As of 3.0.2, Shock and Volley hit animosity has been reduced by 15% reducing our multi-target tanking.

I think I've been around the Ravager in PvE! If I forgot some things, please let me know in the comments. Hope you find this guide helpful. If you have any questions do not hesitate.
