SWTOR - Knights of the Fallen Empire: ZL and Operations

SWTOR - Knights of the Fallen Empire: ZL and Operations

If there is one recurring question when discussing the next expansion of SWTOR, it is the group content, namely Contentious Areas and Operations.

On the official site, George Smith, operations and contentious area design manager, offers to tell us a bit about this content.

SWTOR - Knights of the Fallen Empire: ZL and Operations

He first of all gives an update on the current content, specifying that as it is, the progression means that players do not necessarily have access to all the content offered by SWTOR. It is true that we easily overlook ZL and Operations, especially when they are not of our level, or when they do not offer interesting loot. This is what they want to change with KotFE.

Contentious Areas

A single player mode will be added to all ZLs playing a role in the story, similar to those of Forged Alliances. And we can play this single player mode as much as we want. The big news will be that a level synchronization system will be added, which will adapt the level of the ZL according to your character.

Flashpoints in Story Mode, at least most of them, will become Tactical LZs, which can be played between level 1 and 65, with the boost as for the current ones.

But the Hard mode will still be there, and they will be available between levels 50 and 65, Red Reaper included. A boost will also be offered, but it will still be necessary to compose a classic group (Tank + Healer + DPS).

operations

All operations will be increased to level 65! But those in Story mode will nevertheless be available from level 50, with a boost. Group Finder is slated to be improved, granting gear suited to the character.

And each week, a Hard Mode operation will be featured, with more rewards.

Nightmare mode will still be there, for Operations already owning it (so a priori not for Temple of Sacrifice and Ravageurs) offering the same rewards as in Difficult, but with the trophies, mounts and decorations that we know. .

But what many are waiting to know, and which may not necessarily be great news, is that this extension will not offer operations. The studio prefers to adjust the details on their advanced player system, allowing access to all the content, before planning a new one. Hopefully, the old content will have enough appeal for guilds who like to tackle operations, while waiting for future new content. In any case, I am convinced that many will be happy to be able to go through these old operations with a little more challenge than now.

List of available operations:

  •  Chamber of Eternity (5 bosses)
  •  Karagga Palace (5 bosses)
  • Explosive conflict (4 bosses)
  • Nightmare from elsewhere (5 bosses)
  • Vile Rogue Lair (7 bosses)
  • Golden Fury (1 boss)
  • Dread Fortress (5 bosses)
  • Dread Palace (5 bosses)
  • The Ravagers (5 bosses)
  • Temple de sacrifice (5 boss)
