SWTOR - Machine Gods: Tyth (Normal)

Description of the fight

The confrontation with Tyth takes place on a circular platform. Tyth has, in addition to a primary attack dealing minimal damage, two attacks with markers on the ground and a dowry that lands on the tank and can be dispelled by healers. In addition to these three attacks he will regularly summon waves of droids to aid him and enrage if you kill too many in too short a period of time.

  • Boss Hit Points : 5 health points (377 players)
  • Fight time before enrage : unknown.

Combat abilities

  • Melee attack: hits the target and inflicts energy damage.
  • Energy wave: energy attack indicated by a rectangular marker which follows the target of the boss in its movements. Kill droids instantly. Channeling time 2,4 seconds.
  • Sweep: Energy cone attack centered on the boss's target. Kill droids instantly.
  • Drone invasion (unofficial name in the absence of channeling or damage): summons a wave of 5 probes with varying effects.
  • Rabies overload:  When Tyth accumulates 10 or more rage units, he casts a rage overload that inflicts 25% of his maximum health to each party member in unreducible damage.

Course of the fight

In normal mode, the combat is not very exciting. One tank is enough because exchanges are not useful. Her role will be to guard the boss and place her at the edge of the circle so her area damage (aoe) doesn't kill the droids she spawns. If this were to happen, the boss would recover two units of rage for each droid killed. After 10 stacked units, he casts the rage overload, which should be avoided, although your healers should be able to compensate for this damage. So here is a possible strategy.

This strategy takes the path of the mechanics set up for the hard mode. When the boss summons the drones, the dps must focus on them and eliminate them as quickly as possible. The boss will then take a few rage units which will be reduced before the next wave. Thus, there should be little risk of reaching rage overload. The tank will be targeted by two regular attacks, energy wave and sweep, in addition to the melee attack.

To avoid multiplying the damage, you can move the boss to an edge of the room since it doesn't have any throwing spells, so you won't risk falling unless you throw yourself into the void. Finally the healer (s) will have a task which consists in dispelling the tank of a debuff increasing the damage suffered.

Additional tips

If you find that the boss has too many Rage units, you can leave a Grace droid alive. After channeling three healing spells, which you can interrupt with a dedicated ability or control, it will channel a yellow lightning bolt that will take multiple units of rage away from the boss.
