SWTOR - Make your PvP gear at 50

This article is obsolete, please refer to version 1.2.

Here is the first article in a series aimed at levels 50 and in response to the question: "what to do after 50?". The first answer is: PvP!

And there, everything gets complicated because if we go to the side of the PvP equipment merchants in the "Combat Training" district of the Fleet station, there are 16 merchants plus 2 others, in the middle, next to it. from the mission terminal.

In fact, looking at it a second time after this brief moment of panic, we see that only 4 of the 16 merchants are relevant to your class. Be careful though, the merchants do concern the class (eg: Sith Warrior) and not the advanced class (Ravager / Marauder). As the bonuses are not clearly indicated, double-check before taking a piece of equipment that it corresponds to your advanced class and your specialization!

PvP currencies

Looking at the equipment sold by each merchant, it emerges 4 different currencies:
- distinction of war zones
- mercenary distinction
- distinction of centurion
- warlord distinction

Where to start ?!

Before, there was a vendor in the capitals who sold all 10 pieces of Tier 0 gear, blue pieces (index 116) for a total of 4000 War Zone distinctions. However, it was removed in patch 1.0.2 and now you can no longer purchase this base gear. Thus, you can only keep your distinctions (taking care not to exceed the maximum of 1000).

Indeed, to improve your stuff, there are two related methods. The general idea is to buy champion bags (800 war zone distinctions from the "PvP item" merchant), and in them, you get, either:

  • 3 centurion distinctions
  • 1 Centurion Award and a Champion's Equipment Token

If you are lucky enough to have a champion token (15-25%), you get rank 2 equipment directly. Otherwise, you buy rank 1 equipment with centurion distinctions. It takes 400 centurion accolades to buy all of the centurion's equipment, index 126, or 14 pieces.

Champion bags can also be obtained through repeatable PvP quests:

  • Daily (Ilum and Warzone): 1 champion bag each
  • Weekly (Ilum and War Zone): 3 champion bags each

That is 20 champion bags per week.

The mercenary distinctions?

These distinctions are special in that they can be dispensed with most of the time by investing more war zone distinctions. These marks are indeed recoverable by exchanging 30 war zone distinctions = 10 mercenary accolades.

They are not directly linked to a level of equipment. It is a way to achieve its ends faster by carrying out external missions in addition to the traditional missions in war zones. Thus, you can collect it on Tatooïne, in chests, in the PvP zone at the rate of 5 chests every 2 hours with 20 distinctions each time. That is a total of 100 mercenary distinctions. The area is located near the dune sea, approximately at coordinates -300, -850. The entrance is marked by two flags. Here is a nice little video that shows you how it goes there:

After that ?

Once you have 60 bravery (which is rather laborious to have), the daily quests will offer you a new type of bag, the Battlemaster bags which will therefore allow you to have 16 Battlemaster bags and 4 bags each week. additional champion.

In these master bags you will get champion accolades that allow you to buy the champion's equipment (rank 2, index 136), the very one that can be obtained directly with tokens in the first champion's bags! If you're unlucky, so no tokens, it takes around 700 Champion Honors to buy all of the Champion's gear.

You may also have a chance to obtain a token to buy the war master's equipment, the last step for the moment, a magnificent equipment of index 140. Note that the two implants and the ear are the only ones items sold. You will still need to spend 600 Warzone Honors and 600 Mercenary Honors to purchase all 3 items.

Here ! If you like to hit players on the other side, now you know everything.
