WildStar - Chad reflects on recent events

WildStar - Chad reflects on recent events

Four days ago, we learned of the cancellation of WildStar in China and the layoff of over 4 employees at Carbine Studios. This announcement had a lot of reactions and Chad Moore, recently a Director of WildStar, wanted to talk to us about it.

WildStar - Chad reflects on recent events

Here is a summary translation of what he said, you can find his entire message on the official forum.

Last Friday was a very difficult day for Carbine. As many of you know, WildStar did not come out as expected, which is why it was necessary to reduce the size of the team.. Everyone affected gave us immense talent and all had their part to play. It has been a privilege to work with them and wish them the best for the future.

Having said that, I wish everyone knew that this is not the end of WildStar. The team is always dedicated to the game and its community, and we will continue on the path I outlined in my last post on the state of the game. Destination Arcterra will be available in less than 3 weeks, the release on Steam is will do during the spring and we will continue to always improve the game and add new content to it.

We continue to work on Redmoon Terror, Halon's Rings, and Evil from the Ether, our next expedition. The improvement system is also still in development, such as the possibility of being able to put queue of several things at once. We will continue to have in-game events for players to encourage them to participate.

It is important that everyone knows that the next few months will be a transition period for Carbine. We still have a heart of passionate developers who want to improve the game and create new content, but such transitions take time, and I want to thank the community for their patience. We will continue to communicate the next steps to you.

Finally, I wish thank the WildStar community for offering their support during these difficult times. I understand that such events affect you and we appreciate that you continue to play the game and engage with us. Like I said, WildStar was created for you, and I look forward to continuing to work together and make it better.

A message that wants to be optimistic! Hopefully the same goes for the future of the game that deserves it.
