SWTOR 6.0 - Amplifiers

SWTOR 6.0 - Amplifiers

The latest systemic addition to equipment, amplifiers are bonus statistics or utilities to increase performance, experience, or improve crew skills. Each equipment location is therefore dedicated to seeing additional amplifiers. As of its release date, the equipment parts, shields and modules are the only ones to benefit from it, but it has already been confirmed that sophistication will be entitled to it in the future.

Amplifiers

Let's start by seeing how to get an amplifier before detailing the possibilities by type of location. Basically, each of the three locations has an amplifier. It is determined randomly from the list of possibilities, and according to the type of location. Four qualities are offered with varying effects depending on the percentages obtained. These 4 grades correspond to the colors green, blue, purple and yellow in the respective order from premium, prototype, artefact to legendary.

Once obtained, the amplifier is linked to the room or element corresponding. So if we get an amplifier on a shield, it can be removed from the room to be put on another if it turns out to be interesting. For example, this allows bonuses for crew skills to be transferred from one character to another. The amplifiers are visible in the character window by passing the mouse over a room or via the terrain modification interface, the one where the kits are placed.

Finally, please, the amplifier can be changed in two different ways. The first is the most obvious, by changing the wrong element with a new one, when the second is the most expensive but also the fastest. The system offers access to a window where it is possible to recalibrate the amplifier. Recalibrating costs credits and offers two new amplifier possibilities. If one of them interests you, you just have to "put it in place" to replace the existing one. Otherwise, you can recalibrate again, at a cost in credits that increases rapidly as you do so.

As far as we have seen now, it is not possible to reset the cost of calibrations in any way. It is still possible to replace the shield or the module with a new one for this purpose.

Don't break the bank ...

Not going broke with the exorbitant costs that calibrations can reach can seem difficult. If you target the amplifiers on a single character, ... there is nothing to do except multiply the identical shields and modules or buy the same part several times to obtain the desired amplifier.

On the other hand, if you target several equipped characters, it becomes possible to play on the transfer of modification to reduce costs at the inheritance scale. As soon as you find a useful amplifier on one of the characters, equip it and dismantle the part that interests you to transfer it. It can sometimes go very quickly because legendary effects are not uncommon, we see them go through regularly.

Settling for a desired effect in purple or blue temporarily can also be a way to start small. This will have the advantage of going faster but will require changing the effects

Finally, if you do not have the maximum equipment index 306 of 6.0, simply forget the amplifiers, it would be a waste to invest in a part that will disappear in favor of a better index.

... well not too much

List by location

The list of amplifiers is accessible in-game via the "potential amplifiers" button on the calibration interface. It was also shared on the dedicated developer blog, but it has the disadvantage of not indicating the maximum achievable percentages.
