SWTOR - Making your PvP gear (1.2)

With Update 1.2 everything changes in the way you get your PvP gear, making the previous article obsolete. The system is really simplified because there are now only 3 sets of armor and 2 currencies (war zone distinctions and classified war zone distinctions). All the other distinctions are no longer used for 1.2 and the old sets are no longer offered for sale.

Recruit set

When you start PvP, you can purchase the rookie set, a blue set, index 128. It has fewer stats than the current champion set and cannot be changed (blue quality so stats are linked to the Equipment), however, this set has the advantage of being purchased for credits, ideal for players new to PvP. It will take:

  • ear, implant: 17
  • secondary hand: 19
  • wrist, size: 20
  • feet, gloves: 26
  • head, torso, legs: 31
  • main hand: 38

I'll let you do the addition (in the 320 credits for lazy people)! There are also champion relics, epic quality, purchasable at 000 credits each, accumulating an endurance bonus (+11), an expertise bonus (+300) and a use for various effects.

Combat Master Set

Once equipped as a recruit, you will be able to start war zones and earn war zone distinctions. From now on, the battle master set no longer has any bravery rank prerequisites, it only requires distinctions. And by the way, it has even been increased in expertise. Here are the different prizes (war zone distinctions):

  • wrist, relics: 550
  • belt, ear, implants: 625
  • boots, hands: 875
  • legs: 975
  • head: 1075
  • torso: 1425
  • primary hand, secondary hand: 1

War Heroes Set

One of the big novelties in 1.2 are classified war zones. When you take part in these new battlegrounds, you earn Ranked Warzone Honors which allow you to purchase the new, higher quality armor set.

I'm talking about the new set, but there are actually four styles of items purchasable from the dedicated merchant:

  • the epic version, index 146, which requires Ranked Warzone accolades and Combat Master equipment (from the same slot)
  • the epic version, index 146, requesting the above item of combat heroes (from the same slot), ranked warzone accolades and a minimum index (rating in ranked warzones)
  • the orange version, modifiable, an empty shell without any modification (for the appearance)
  • boxes of plans (I will talk about it in another article dedicated to crafts)

When it comes to gear, you won't find every item in every type. I therefore resume below the list of objects and their various awards in classified war zone distinctions:

  • cuffs: 1
  • relic: 1 (+250 warzone distinctions)
  • size: 1
  • ear, implant: 1 (+425 war zone distinctions)
  • feet, hands: 2
  • legs: 2
  • torso: 3
  • head: 2 425
  • secondary hand, primary hand: 3

From the epic version requiring the index (it is therefore necessary to provide in addition the equivalent master combat equipment):

  • cuffs: 250 (1200)
  • size: 285 (1200)

From the orange version:

  • base: 400 (1600)
  • hands: 400 (1400)
  • legs: 445 (1800)
  • head: 485 (2100)
  • torso: 640 (2400)

Appearence

Note that you will be able to extract the statistics of the pieces of equipment (the set bonus being linked to the armor) so if you don't like the appearance, do not panic, you can use any other orange equipment and it will become your PvP gear!
